The Dubai Experience Turning Clay Into a Tool for Self-Discovery
Dubai’s Amani Ceramics Pottery & Art is introducing Healing Through Art, a multisensory wellness experience combining sensory prompts, intuitive drawing and hand-building with clay. Designed to encourage mindfulness, self-expression and connection, the intimate sessions offer a creative way to slow down, reflect and create something deeply personal to keep.

What if you could slow down, tune into your senses and turn an unspoken feeling into something you could actually hold? This summer, Dubai is welcoming a new kind of creative wellness experience that asks us to forget perfection and simply get our hands dirty.
At Amani Ceramics Pottery & Art, luxury ceramist Amani Eltigani Badur is introducing Healing Through Art, an intimate multisensory experience designed to encourage mindful reflection, self-expression and a deeper connection with creativity.
In celebration of its launch, 20 guests will have the opportunity to experience it completely free.

Forget the pottery wheel
This isn't a conventional pottery class. There are no pre-set shapes to replicate, no technical demonstration to follow and no pressure to produce something Instagram-perfect. Instead, the experience begins before participants even touch the clay.
Guests are guided through a series of sensory prompts involving taste, touch, sound and feeling, creating an opportunity to slow down and shift attention away from the noise of everyday life. From there, they are invited to draw intuitively, allowing thoughts, emotions and sensations to take shape on paper without worrying about whether the result looks "good".
That spontaneous sketch then becomes the starting point for a hand-built clay creation. The result is something entirely personal: a piece of art that emerges organically from the experience rather than from a predetermined design.
“Clay has an extraordinary grounding ability. It demands physical presence,” says Amani. “Often, there are thoughts or feelings we struggle to articulate verbally, but through raw clay and sensory prompts, participants find a natural, non-verbal outlet to externalise what’s inside.”

Creativity without the pressure
One of the most intriguing elements of Healing Through Art is that you don't need to know what you're trying to create before you start.
In a world where wellness can sometimes feel like another item on an already crowded to-do list, the experience takes a different approach. There is no fitness target to reach, meditation timer to beat or perfect outcome to achieve. Instead, the process itself becomes the practice.
Working with raw clay requires attention. You have to feel its texture, respond to its resistance and stay present as the shape develops. For two or three hours, the focus shifts from what needs to happen next to what is happening right now.
“The final piece isn’t about technical perfection,” Amani explains. “It’s a physical testament representing a moment of quiet reflection and self-discovery.”
That philosophy makes the experience particularly relevant to anyone feeling overwhelmed, creatively blocked or simply in need of a slower afternoon.

A shared experience
While Healing Through Art can be experienced individually, it is also available for small private groups of up to six people aged 16 and above. Couples, friends, families and colleagues can share the experience, creating a different kind of social connection, one that doesn't depend on conversation alone.
Facilitated personally by Amani, whose background combines ceramics with formal training in art therapy and cognitive behavioural coaching, the sessions bring together creativity, sensory awareness and reflective practice in an intimate studio environment.
