In collaboration with CRANK, Shark introduced ChillPill through an energetic morning experience at the indoor cycling studio in Alserkal Avenue. The idea was simple: work up a sweat, then experience the different ways the compact device can help bring your temperature back down.
From high energy to instant cool-down
The experience began with a signature CRANK cycling class, bringing together fast-paced music, movement and the kind of workout that leaves you ready for a proper cool-down. Rather than simply reaching for water and heading home, the session transitioned into an opportunity to experience ChillPill first-hand.
What makes the device different from a conventional portable fan is its three-in-one approach to cooling. It combines a high-speed fan, evaporative mist and an InstaChill cooling plate, allowing users to choose how they want to cool down.
The fan delivers airflow at speeds of up to 7.5m/s, while the evaporative mist provides a light refresh without leaving the skin soaked. The InstaChill plate offers something more immediate: direct contact cooling designed to lower local skin temperature by up to 9°C.
After a workout, being able to move between those cooling options makes the experience feel less like simply standing in front of a fan and more like creating your own personal cool-down.
Designed to move with you
The other interesting part of ChillPill is its portability. Rather than being designed to stay on a desk or bedside table, it can be worn, carried or placed down hands-free, making it suited to the way many people move through their day.
That could mean cooling down after a workout, using it while working at a desk, taking it along on a journey or having it nearby during outdoor plans. With up to 11 hours of battery life, it is designed to provide cooling throughout a significant portion of the day without constantly needing to be recharged.
The design also feels deliberately lifestyle-focused. ChillPill is available in Matcha, Carbon, Cloud and Midnight, with the Cloud and Midnight versions coming with a travel case and crossbody strap. Rather than looking like a purely functional piece of equipment, it has been designed to be visible and wearable.
A more considered approach to cooling
The CRANK event also highlighted something interesting about the growing wellness conversation: recovery does not necessarily have to mean complicated routines or lengthy rituals. Sometimes, it is about finding small ways to make the body feel more comfortable during the day.
Shark’s approach is very much rooted in practicality. The ChillPill combines its fan technology with contact-based and evaporative cooling, giving users several options within one compact device. It is not positioned as a replacement for hydration, rest or sensible heat management, but rather as another tool for those moments when you want a quick cooling reset.
The post-workout setting at CRANK was perhaps one of the most natural ways to demonstrate that. After the intensity of the ride, the transition into cooling, smoothies and a more relaxed atmosphere made the ChillPill feel less like a gadget demonstration and more like part of the recovery experience.

Available through Shark UAE and selected retailers, the ChillPill is priced at AED 699 for the Matcha and Carbon versions, while the Cloud and Midnight versions, which include the travel case and crossbody strap, are AED 799.
