There is something undeniably appealing about walking into a wellness space that doesn’t look like every other wellness space. While the modern Pilates studio has increasingly become associated with pale walls, soft neutrals and a certain minimalist aesthetic, HALE PLTS is going in another direction.

Tucked inside Kulture House in Jumeirah, the newly opened studio is rich in terracotta, burgundy, chocolate and cream, layered with velvet, natural wood and curved stone. It is warm rather than clinical, colourful without being overwhelming, and considered without taking itself too seriously.

The colour is only part of the story though. At HALE PLTS, the experience is deliberately small. Every class is limited to just three clients, creating a setting where the instructor can actually see how each person is moving, make adjustments and adapt exercises when needed. It is a simple idea, but one that can feel increasingly rare in a fitness landscape where bigger classes and packed schedules are often the norm.

The result is Pilates that feels less like following a sequence and more like learning how your own body works.mThe studio offers Mat Pilates, Reformer Pilates and Cadillac Pilates, alongside combined Reformer and Cadillac sessions. Each brings something different to the practice: Mat Pilates focuses on body, breath and movement, while the Reformer introduces resistance to build strength, alignment and control. Cadillac Pilates uses bars, straps and springs to explore strength, suspension and decompression.

With only three people in the room, there is also more space for the instructor-client relationship to become part of the practice. Rather than simply moving from one exercise to the next, clients can receive more considered guidance around alignment, technique and the way their individual bodies respond to movement.

For founder Addie Browne, that sense of connection is exactly what HALE PLTS was created around. Browne’s relationship with Pilates began more than 15 years ago. Originally trained in Australia and subsequently completing further training in Dubai, she is certified in Mat, Reformer, Cadillac and Chair Pilates.

Her vision for HALE PLTS grew from a desire to return to what had first drawn her to Pilates: the connection between instructor and client and the opportunity to give people enough time and attention to properly understand their movement.

“I wanted HALE to feel personal from the moment you walk in,” says Addie Browne, founder of HALE PLTS. “Keeping the classes to just three people gives me the time to understand how each client moves and help them build that connection between mind, body and breath.”

That philosophy extends beyond the equipment and into the surroundings. Addie wanted the studio to feel restorative and grounded, but also energising and full of life. Hence the richer palette and tactile materials, which turn the room itself into part of the experience rather than simply a backdrop for the workout.

Besides, HALE PLTS has partnered with Clutch Concierge, with a rotating selection of pieces from the fashion sourcing company displayed throughout the studio and available to purchase. Known for sourcing hard-to-find pieces from leading fashion houses, Clutch adds another layer of personality to a space that already feels deliberately different. The selection will change over time, meaning there should be something new to discover on future visits.

It is this combination of movement, design and intimacy that makes HALE PLTS feel less like a conventional fitness studio and more like a carefully considered wellness destination.

Perhaps that’s the point. Wellness doesn’t always have to look serene in shades of cream. It can have personality, be tactile, expressive and even a little playful, while still giving you the space to slow down and reconnect with yourself.

New clients can currently take advantage of an introductory package of three classes for AED 660, while individual classes start from AED 295. For more information visit the website
